I dont understand atheists...?

atheists claim to only dislike people of other religions because they try to convert them and make them believe that God is real. but do atheists ever realize that they do the same thing if not a worse thing by making fun of other people of other religions and tell them that all they believe in is a lie and that they are stupid and childish for doing so? if they want people of other religions to respect them, then wouldn't it makes sense to act like an adult instead of just being like, "youre wrong i win hehehe" and "youre religion has no foundation, it is all a myth and you are super gullible for believing in it"?
